Across the Canadian Shield, CNR Mail Line Railroading in the mid 1950s was made possible by the fortunate fact that in March 1955, Robert Wanner, a 19-year-old American railfan was assigned to duty at a US radar station in Armstrong, Ontario. Al Lill, the author and editor recognized Bob Wanner's spectacular photographs as a record of rare historical significance and value. Published by CN Lines SIG, 1998.

From time to time, the CN Lines SIG takes on projects to serve the interests of its members and others interested in Canadian National. When the projects come to fruition, they will be added to this page

One of CN Lines SIGs successful projects was the publication in 1998 of the book, Across the Canadian Shield, CNR Main Line Railroading in the mid 1950s written by Allan Lill with principal photography by Robert Wanner. The project was so successful that the book was out-of-print within 18 months of publication. Copies are periodically offered for sale on the Internet by private individuals or book sellers.

Other CN Lines products are produced in limited quantities and are not necessarily reordered when the original quantity is sold out. If you are interested in these products, it is advisable to purchase them when you see them.
