Have you ever wondered if that model or detail part you saw on the shelf at the local hobby shop or heard about is accurate or a good stand-in? I did and have asked many questions about the accuracy of models and detail parts. I think there is nothing more frustrating than taking the time to build, detail, paint and decal to find out when you are done that the parts or kit you used where wrong for your road and there were better choices that could have been made. Well that is the type of information I will be presenting here. I will eventually cover the CNR, GTW, CV, DW&P, NAR and VIA (CN) making it easier for modelers to identify those models.

I do not profess to be an expert in this area but I have received support from those who I do consider very knowledgeable in their own right. I am the one who has taken this on, putting it together for all to use. I am not that familiar with some of the other scales as I model the CNR and family in HO, with interest in equipment form the 60's to today. So again if you are interested and want to send me an e-mail and add to the site please do.

At this time I have not collected much information on either brass or steam. There have been other lists put out for brass and I will with time get it posted here. So if you have anything to add please pass it along.

I don't believe that there are totally accurate models out there of any prototype. That said, I will do my best to represent whether or not the pieces that are covered here are accurate or good stand-ins, anything that does not come under these two groupings will not be covered. That said if you think I have left a model out or you know of something that is not listed please let me know so I can check it out and have it added or removed from the page if it is incorrect. If you can supply information on any kit such as inaccuracies of the kit or proper series of the car it represents please let me know. This can grow to something very worthwhile but I will need your help and input.

Over time I hope to link many of the models with pictures of the prototype. If you have pictures and would like to contribute please let me know.

This will be a work in progress as new models come along and corrections are made so check back from time to time and see what is new.

I in no way have any affiliation with any of the companies on these lists (except for my membership in the CNRHA) and the comments contained here do not assure product quality, availability or service from suppliers or manufactures listed here. I am in no way saying that you should not use and enjoy models that are not listed here; that choice is yours to make.
