GE 44-ton / caboose

These two models where built by Jim Spurway.

The GE-44 ton started out as a undecorated unit. After painting, I added the front marker lamps and made the number board on either side of the exhaust stacks. This particular unit is important to me as I often rode it in the early 1960's in Kelowna, where it preformed switching duties. CN rail staff were friendly to rail fans back then.

I spent over 60 hours in the assembly and painting the Sylvan Scale Models HO-1030 caboose. I remember being on this style of caboose many times. The number 78491, is of a caboose now owned by the Port Stanley Terminal Railway, but restored to CN paint and lettering. I bought a postcard of it after riding the PSTR on summer vacation.

Thanks for your contribution, Jim.
