CNoR 3rd Class station at Turtleford

This model was submitted by Dave Winter of Peachland, BC.

The pictures enclosed are of Dave's 1/24th scale CNoR 3rd Class station at Turtleford, or St Gregor, SK. The station was built to be the centre piece of the new WVRR under construction in the back yard. It's built with 1/4" and 3/8" marine grade plywood, detailed with balsa trim and covered with stucco (paint/HO ballast/paint) The shingles are cedar cut and applied one at a time. The semaphores are designed to work when a suitable motor action is found. The platform is lighted. The station has been covered, inside and out, with three coats of Diamond Varathane to help see it through the local weather.

early
morning at Turtleford
This picture was taken early in the morning when there was little activity on the platform. The ol' cold shed annex hides in the shadows but has long since been relegated to dust and various small animals.
