CN 902006 is owned by Ontario Hydro and is used to carry coal from Western Canada to thermal plants in Ontario. For a long time, Ontario Hydro had a contract with CP to deliver this coal. This car is thus painted with the CP "pacman" symbol. However in mid-1990s, the contract was let to CN instead. CN took over operation of the cars and relettered them CNHX.
This photo was taken in June 1998 in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.
CN 45308 is a rail carrier. It was manufactured in Jan 1976. Since it only has a five digit number, it is not a revenue car, but is used by CN for its own use. These cars are often seen in strings, carrying loads of rail.
This photo was taken in Edmonton in March 1997.
CN 30125 is a typical open car used to haul ballast for CN tracks. It has chutes near each truck for dumping gravel onto the right of way.
CN 30125 was built by National Steel Car in Mar 1976. This photo was taken in Edmonton, June 1997.
CN 345091 is a centre-dump ore hopper made by National Steel Car in 1965. This hopper was originally used on CN's Great Slave Lake Division. Four locomotives and the whole fleet of ore cars were painted yellow and labelled "Great Slave Lake Division". These yellow ore cars (about 48 of the original 245) are all that is left of this unique yellow paint scheme.

Module car CN 59563 is carrying three large modules. On the left is a large white box marked "CN Rail 098-41MC"; this holds a generator and probably other equipment. In the centre is a white water tank (2900 Imperial gallons). On the right is a green diesel fuel tank (2720 Imperial gallons). In between the two tanks is an orange box that holds a fuel pump.
CN 59563 was built in July 1958 by MIL as CN 663799. Date of conversion to module car unknown. Data: CAPY 14100, LD LMT 141800, LT WT 78200
This photo was taken in Edmonton in March 1998.
CN 878281 is a 61 foot woodchip car photographed near the car repair shop in Edmonton in September 96. This has an unusual "CN Rail" paint scheme which is chalking (running) badly. CN 881629 is a similar car photographed in Edmonton in early 1999. The wood chips above the open top are visible.
Apparently this logo was used briefly in 1981-82 and only on woodchip cars. There are still some of them left in this paint scheme.
Open-ended gondola 90830 is used in work service. It was built in December 1942. It carries the notation: "CAR MUST NOT BE MOVED WITH APRON PLATE DOWN". Other data: IL 48.6, LD LMT 100300, LT WT 59700.
